I thought reinventing myself was a grind. And it is.
but I found joy in the chaos + sneak peek into 2025 Work Unseen
When I started refining my focus in 2024, I had one golden rule:
I wouldn’t rush the process
Fast forward to now: I'm closer to my vision than ever, with a clearer direction and a renewed sense of purpose. It's been a slow burn, but I’m finally seeing the pieces fall into place.
⏺ 2024: A Year of Change, Chaos, and Growth
Personal Milestones
Sold Lex after years of building and scaling—it’s bittersweet, leaving me reflective and reeling.
Took up skiing again after a 30-year hiatus—a reminder that it's never too late to restart. Wear a helmet.
Saved my parents from a hurricane, welcomed them into my home, navigated health challenges together.
Professional Milestones
Sold Lex —technically a milestone, though I made $0. It taught me what it means to let go.
Dabbled in consulting and fractional work—with Headstream and explored building a niche with Sweta.
Found inspiration on Substack—it’s become a lifeline as I chart a new path. Met Anna, Matilda, Caitlin (new sub friends)
Departed Instagram after a decade of Herstory.
Launched: 30 days to launch your side project, or your next company
2024 was my purgatory year.
A year of waiting, uncertainty, and tension.
Selling Lex left me feeling lost, empty, and unmoored. It had consumed so much of my energy, straining relationships and holding me in limbo.
Family focus became central as my partner spent months abroad with family, and I stepped up for mine. It was grounding, but also overwhelming.
Lessons? I freeze when asked this. Maybe that’s the lesson—life isn’t neat or moralistic. I’m learning to observe and take notes rather than force meaning.
Startup Jargon Detox: I’m unlearning the LinkedIn brain rot and GPT-generated motivations, trying to reconnect with my artist side.
I need new devotion, new obsession, something to ground me again. In the meantime, I’m embracing the chaos—setting rules, breaking them, finding freedom in the wild.
▶️ 2025: The Year of PUSH, PLAY, DO THINGS
Refined focus for Work Unseen:
A space for late bloomers and unconventional thinkers—the xennials, GenXers, and elder millennials navigating mid-life and mid-career reinvention.
Experiments you can try with me as I fumble through the middle.
Interviews with late bloomers and odd thinkers who’ve charted their own paths.
Creative adventures: A mix of art, writing, action, and experimentation.
I want to weave all my experiences into something cohesive—a messy, imperfect magnum opus.
