This is paid (locked 🔐) post—part of a series digging into the personal, the weird, and the uncomfortable truths around money, ambition, and what’s next. I’m using the paid feature to keep some parts of me from streaking across the open web. Gatekeeping the tea. Welcome to my secret diary.
This is my first paid post and it’s about money and relationships.
Inside: the real numbers, the relationship stuff, and what success means when you’ve made $7,100 this year and still want to fly business class someday. Happy tax season!
I keep a Notes app note where I drop random ideas for Work Unseen.
Topics range from “the world of luxury linens” to “why do we have to be nice?” to “the Ray Bradbury story that still haunts me today” to “why can't we just hang out with cheese and crackers? Why do we have to prepare a five-star dinner just to see our friends?”
Anyway.
The other day, I was scrolling the TikTok FYP and came across a young, eloquent, bouncy, blond white woman talking about how she made half a million this year—and she’s in her 20s. AH! I mean, great. Incredible. A vision. But also: the knife hits the gut. I’ve never had that talent. The talent for cash flowing into a bank account. Business brain. But I am working on it!
