Yesterday I stepped out my apartment door, walked across Washington Ave, then across Eastern Parkway and into The Brooklyn Museum. I haven’t visited it in the 4 years we lived here, the museum is a 1min walk from my apartment. (btw it’s $20 suggested donation, that means you can pay anything you like/don’t like) I forked over $20 for all the years I’ve abandoned the museum. Alexandra Segreti said I needed to see the Copy Machine Manifesto show - featuring a large swathe of queer zines. So I did. Heads up, it’s over in a matter of days - March 31, 2024.
One of the many pieces that I loved was the poetic list written by Jack Vargas, you can read it all via Jack Vargas Digital Archive.
Lists, Notes, Zines, Hand Writing
Writing lists, on paper, cutting and pasting are cathartic acts. This list by Vargas led my brain to the lists by Lorraine Hansberry that went around the internet a few years ago. She gets to the point, she gets things off her mind, her chest.
There’s a hot and not list, then completely exhausted “I’M BORED TO DEATH OF” paired with “I want” list. See the pair on Literary Hub.

This week I’m going to make a list. Not sure the subject or how many columns.
I want to make a list. Maybe I’ll share it on Wednesday (getting back onto my Wednesday post schedule).
